The Canadian Tire Centre is a superb venue that was clean and there didn't seem to be a bad seat in the place. The show started with a performance by the Randy Bachman Band, a powerful, first-rate opening act that energized the crowd. In between songs, Randy's banter was informative and fun. They played for a little more than an hour but it only seemed like minutes, with non-stop hit after hit. Lynyrd Skynyrd came on next and put so much into the show, performing one favorite after another. A few people say that this is just a Skynyrd tribute band because the real Skynyrd ended with the plane crash, but after seeing this show I have to disagree. Everybody on stage did their very best to keep the songs sounding the way everyone remembers. Proper respect was paid to those passed on, and I think they would approve as they looked down upon the stage. The lines moved quickly and in an orderly manner. The Randy Bachman Band was a fantastic show. They did the nearly impossible job of blowing us away with their talent and fervor while not tarnishing the memories of those that came before. Don't miss your chance to see this show. As a fan of classic rock, I couldn't have been more pleased. I thank the current members of Lynyrd Skynyrd for a wonderful show.
